Project Steve: Humorous Test of Scientists' Attitudes Towards Intelligent Design
Here are some of the lists of "scientists who doubt evolution." In each case the list's Steve-o-meter refers to the number of Steves listed on May 11, 2003 when Project Steve had 338 Steves.
This particular list sometimes lists the institution that granted the signers' doctorates and sometimes lists their current position apparently depending on which sounds more prestigious.
Curiously, some of the people listed, including a professor of marketing and a cadet training officer, represent specialities not generally called "science." The Texas Citizens for Science has posted Texas Citizens for Science Responds to Latest Discovery Institute Challenge which refutes DI claims and reproduces the relevant DI press releases.

DFG biologists will prepare a status report on the species for the Fish and Game Commission to fully consider whether available evidence supports determining that the salamander is not threatened.
Biologists discovered the species in California in 1963 and designated it as a new species two years later.
Since the threatened status listing DFG scientists have learned that the early information about the range and biology of the species was limited.

There are omissions from the list, either of names of taxa that we've completely missed, or of authors and dates of publication and/or of localities that we have been unable to find.
They decline any responsibility, however, for the list at the specific level; to repeat the earlier warning, the list is meant as a rough guide and not as a definitive last word on the group.

Viewpoint: Biotech research presents a major opportunity for Mass. economy - MIT News Office
The development of this list was a crowning achievement of a half-century of biological science that followed the discovery of the structure of DNA.
Now work must begin on the search for understanding how this vast array is connected, how the parts interact, how they change dynamically, and the nature of their three-dimensional structure.
The work of biologists, computer scientists, and engineers from many disciplines is merging to perform precise measurements, monitor complex processes at blinding speed, analyze vast amounts of data, and understand biological systems of unprecedented complexity.

 HHMI Bulletin Spring 2005: Bioinformatics
The proteins encoded by DNA are an essential component of this list, which is one reason why biologists want to identify all the functional genes in DNA.
The parts list will help biologists build a “wiring diagram” for human cells: a schematic representation of all the interactions that occur among all the elements on the list.
Once biologists have a general sense of the wiring diagram of a human cell, they can move on to what Green sees as the third main objective of human genetics research: They can begin to reconstruct, both in computers and in the laboratory, synthetic systems that mimic those in the cell.

Evolution News & Views: Predictable as Clockwork, the New York Times Misses The News In Reporting On Scientists ...
First, the original purpose of our dissent list was not to prove that Darwin critics are in the majority in the scientific community, but to rebut bogus claims by Darwinists that no reputable scientists are skeptical of Darwinism.
Second, it’s apparent from the diversity of scientific fields represented by our dissent list that Darwinian biologists are having an increasingly tough time convincing scientists from other disciplines of the veracity of their theory.
Actually, there are 154 biologists on the list (not 128 as the Times’ claims), which represents 30% of the signers.

One interesting sociological speculation that emerged while compiling the list: evolutionary biologists and geneticists tend to write books more often than other types of biologists (perhaps because they are more convinced of the human relevance of their work than these other biologists).

When Eggert’s sunflower was placed on the threatened species list, biologists knew of 34 population sites within 14 areas: one county in Alabama, five counties in Kentucky, and eight counties in Tennessee.
Now, there are 73 known populations (seven that span three counties in Alabama; 18 that span nine counties in Kentucky; and 48 that span 15 counties in Tennessee).
