Censor - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A censor was a high Magistrate (elected political officer) of the Roman Republic and Principate.
Because their original task was to guard the morality of public life, mainly by the standards of the pagan state religion (until the imperial conversion to Christianity), and punish transgressions, they were also known as castigator(e)s.
The censors were also in charge of the membership roll of the Senate, every five years adding new senators who had been elected to the requisite offices.

The case marks a turning point in the List Censor's attempt to harness the Z-cluster for economic development, as in the ever expanding Trolls of Chaos page, while simultaneously stamping out attempts to use the list to spread dissent.
Director and Pioneer of List Censorship, Brian Yliaster said the two most prominent of the arrested dissidents, infek bin Laden and Ji Abdul Jamal were accused of "involvement in activities endangering the list security" a strong indication that they could be headed for lengthy killfile sentences and list banishments.
Though list police repeatedly censored and deleted posts for brief periods, they did not formally arrest them, which the dissidents interpreted as a sign that Lord Brian was finally prepared to tolerate at least a low level of anti-censorship list dissent.

The results of applying this nameless function to the input list will be collected as a new list and returned by "censor3".
This version of censor is different from its ancestors in that it takes an additional parameter which defines the list of words to be censored.

List, if we succumb to censorship by the loudest and angriest, then in short order, I am sure there will be 2 lists.
One for all the people who want to censor it to more narrow and restrictive topics and viewpoints continuously (and they can spend all day discusssing, no aruging, about how to censor it the best), and one where people are free.
Either you have not read them carefully or you and others on this list are of the notion that there area not and should not be any standards of conduct, even on the spiritual path.

They are the main concern of the officials and list censors who met in Cyberspace last week to train emergency personnel drones to respond to a list terrorist attack.
That concern is driving a major, though largely unpublicized, effort by z-cluster list defense planners and censors to come up with unusual countermeasures for an expected new wave of memetically engineered thoughts, as well as better ways of detecting and blunting Weapons of List Destruction that already exist.
With list cohesion in tatters, unsubscribed writers might be compelled to sell that knowledge to Lellwyn, Weiser or some other foreign list, Jamal said.

 Russian National Bibliography
This was the initial source for the publication of the censors lists and thus served as the original location for the most comprehensive list of Russia's publishing output.
Until 1902 it was basically an offprint of the censors' lists published in Pravitel'stvennyi viestnik and bound together in annual volumes. What this means for the users is that the bibliography consists of weekly lists that have been bound together with no index and with only alphabetical arrangement for each week.

There is, for example, the pastor in Anadarko, Oklahoma, who failed in his attempt to censor his son's high-school sociology book, Social Problems (Kornblum and Julian, Prentice), objecting to question-and-answer passages about homosexuality and incest, which he described as pornographic and obscene: "The answers are even worse than the questions," he complained.
The list is arranged alphabetically by title, and cross-referenced with major actors and directors.

The Episcopal Conference, however, may draw up a list of censors who are outstanding for their knowledge, right doctrine and prudence, to be available to diocesan curias; it may even establish a commission of censors whom the local Ordinary can consult.
ß2 In carrying out this task, a censor must put aside all preference of persons and look only to the teaching of the Church concerning faith and morals, as declared by its Magisterium.
If it is favorable, the Ordinary may, in his prudent judgment, give his permission for the work to be published, adding his own name and the date and place of the permission.

February Education Reporter -- The Seduction of the American Public Library
Look at the philosophic change: for its entire history, until the 1960s, the philosophy that undergirded the American public library was the same as that which informed the U.S. Constitution's Bill of Rights, and made the free speech clause possible.
Nancy Bolt and Gordon Conable stoke the fires of this paranoia in the Intellectual Freedom Manual with their list of potential censors, which includes not only everyone in the community but everyone in the library, as well.
The list includes: "Parents, either singly or in groups...Religious groups...Protected minority groups...Patriotic groups" and, for good measure, "emotionally unstable individuals." The enemies list includes library trustees, in whom governing power over a library resides.
