There are many nice places to visit in Uruguay, the whole east cost has many beautiful beaches & cities/towns (Punta del Este, La Paloma, Punta del Diablo, Cabo Polonio, etc), Colonia del Sacramento (in the west) is also a beautiful place (but this is a river coast, not sea/ocean).
Montevideo is a great city too, not really turisty, but still a lot of great places to visit.
I was born in Uruguay but haven’t been there once since I left to come to Australia.
