Pennsylvania is divided into 60 judicial districts[2], most of which (save Philadelphia and Allegheny Counties) have magisterial district judges (formerly called district justices and justices of the peace), who preside mainly over minor criminal offenses and small civil claims.
Pennsylvania's nickname "The Keystone State" is quite apt, as the state forms a geographic bridge both between the Northeastern states and the Southern states, and between the Atlantic seaboard and the Midwest.
Pennsylvania is bisected diagonally by ridges of the Appalachian Mountains from southwest to northeast.

 Brethren Affiliated Colleges
Elders of the German Baptist Brethren of Pennsylvania Eastern district were invited in 1898 to attend a meeting for the expressed purpose of founding an institution of higher education, and a committee subsequently recommended Elizabethtown as their choice location.
Juniata College is the oldest of the six colleges that are affiliated with the Church of the Brethren.
University of La Verne was founded by members of the Church of the Brethren under the name of Lordsburg College in 1891.

Colby College requires students to take a three- or four-credit course in Historical Studies--"courses that investigate human experience by focusing on the development of cultures and societies as they evolve through time." Requirements may be satisfied by courses in departments as diverse as Administrative Science, French Education and Human Development.
Cornell University students must include at least one course that focuses "on an area or a people other than those of the United States, Canada, or Europe, and one course that focuses on an historical period before the twentieth century." Courses that satisfy this requirement include non-history classes in Archaeology, Anthropology, Linguistics and English.

It is reported that every one of the colleges listed in the various subpages of this FAQ has offered admission to at least one "home schooled" applicant (who may or may not have enrolled there).
Colleges known to recruit homeschoolers, those that describe admission procedures for home-schooled applicants in their application materials, or those whose admission officers indicate that they would admit homeschooled applicants are marked as "[yes]." As the reconfirmation process continues, the "!!" mark will take precedence over any other applicable mark describing a school's admission of homeschoolers.
One Bible college admission officer told me that homeschoolers are welcomed by her school, but that applicants without a high school diploma are required to take the GED exam.
