America In The Colonial Era: The Colonies In Their Political Relations
The Connecticut colony (1635, 1636) was an overflow from the large Puritan population which had emigrated to Massachusetts Bay, and its principal settlements on the Connecticut river were made under the protection of the older colony.
In the internal government of the colonies generally there were three main factors, the governor, the governor's council, and the assembly chosen by the people, the second being the prototype of the State senate.
Among the colonies there was a marked quickening of conscience on the subject, beginning near the middle of the century, -when the Quakers inaugurated their effective opposition to slavery,--and showing tokens of increasing vitality till the adoption of the Federal Constitution in 1789.

A Short History of American Capitalism: COLONIAL ECONOMY
Of all members of that colony's governor's council during 1702-1776, "sixty percent were landed proprietors or their relatives, the individuals who had dominated the colony's history since the 1670s and who still controlled access to all unpatented land in the province."13 Large landholders, professionals, and large planters provided the bulk of members of the assembly.
By 1774 "land in the colonies was virtually all privately owned."20 Over half the value of colonial physical wealth was accounted for by land.
By the close of the colonial period, the land of the 13 colonies was spoken for by the politically dominant aristocracy.

The Germanic area of Central Europe in the year 1700 was a patchwork of some three hundred loosely organized sovereign territories wherein the delusionary concept of the divine right of kings was accepted, rulers reigned supreme within their own borders, and an emperor prevailed overall.
England's public records and documents relative to the colonial history of New York provide numerous examples, through written accounts which clearly record the story, as to conditions and events of the time, during the early part of the eighteenth century, wherein so many Palatines chose to leave Germany.

 [No title]
A final effort was made by France through the Governor General of Quebec to evacuate the Acadians to the Quebec areas before the British carry out their threat of deporting them to British-controlled areas.
Except for a small group of 160, the colony failed due to the exploits of certain French agencies which had a keen interest in wanting this to happen so that the good Acadian farmers might return to the maritime ports and further their business interests.
This added to the plight of the Acadians, again believing they had been tricked and cheated, their morale was further eroded to the point of discourgement and distrust of anyone who came to them with promises of help.
