Topic: List of common household pests

Household Encyclopedia   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-09-11)
The household is the basic unit of analysis in many microeconomic and government models.
A householder in the U.S. census is the "person (or one of the people) in whose name the housing unit is owned or rented (maintained);" if no person qualifies, any adult resident of a housing unit is a householder.
The U.S. government formerly used the term head of the household and head of the family to describe householders; beginning in 1980, these terms were officially dropped from the census and replaced with householder.

Household - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The household is the basic unit of analysis in many microeconomic and government models.
Most economic models do not address whether or not the members of a household are a family in the traditional sense.
For UK statistical purposes, a household is defined as "one person or a group of people who have the accommodation as their only or main residence and (for a group) either share at least one meal a day or share the living accommodation, that is, a living room or sitting room" (see National Statisticsarticle).

Pest (animal) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
It is possible for an animal to be a pest in one setting but beneficial or domesticated in another (for example, European rabbits introduced to Australia caused ecological damage beyond the scale they inflicted in their natural habitat).
An example of serious pests are those organisms which vector human disease, such as rats and fleas which carry the plague disease, or mosquitoes which vector malaria.
Other pests compete for the human food supply or agricultural crops, such as coddling moth on apples, or boll weevil on cotton.

 Managing Pests
For this tactic to be effective a good understanding of what pest infests the crop to be grown, the life cycles and the influence of environment on their emergence and development, and, the insect feeding habits or damage caused.
Consequently, correct identification of the pest and beneficials is required as is the ability to recognize the various stages in their life cycles (10).
The varieties on this list have been shown to be highly adapted to Texas and are provided as a guide to assist growers in their variety selection.

 Household Pests
The common name of fl widow arises from the fact that a hungry female is capable of eating her mate after copulation.
However, the pest control operator should be aware of these techniques and can function to recommend sanitary methods that reduce the chances of initial infestation and eliminates conditions that favor the development of populations in the home or industry.
Common agricultural areas where large fly populations may breed include chicken ranches, dairies, beef feed lots, hog ranches, horse stables and areas of crop production where manure is used or fruits and vegetables are culled.
