COSH groups all over the country are regular recipients of the Susan Harwood grants.
On average, an individual COSH receives $20,000-$30,000 a year from the Harwood grants, O’Brien said, making the grant funding a substantial portion of most groups’ budgets, which vary from less than $50,000 to over $1 million a year.
O’Brien, of New York COSH, said the new direction OSHA appears to be heading cannot achieve the same results groups like hers do, namely because grassroots training casts a wide net, offers situation-specific programming, and teaches employees to be proactive and work with all elements of the communities they work in.

Only Lewisham families on the waiting list were to be housed; dwellings licensed to the squatting group were to be vacated when required and there would be no guarantee of rehousing.
The families who were housed would have their housing waiting list points 'frozen' so that their long-term chances of getting a Council house would not be jeopardised.
Furthermore, they argued that it was easy to ensure that a family was put on the waiting list by housing them temporarily at an address in the borough all residents of Lewisham being eligible to put their names on the waiting list.

PETER H. PEEL: The Great Brown Scare: The Amerika-Deutscher Bund in the Thirties and the Hounding of Fritz Julius Kuhn
In August, Dickstein, for the second time, inserted into the Congressional Record a list of names of "persons spreading un-American propaganda." One smeared individual by the name of Dietrich Wortmann, not a Bundist, was the president of an amateur Athletic association.
Wortmann complained that under the law he had no redress for Dickstein's slanders and demanded that a committee of inquiry be set up to clear himself of them.
Speaking of the possibilities of revolutionary activist conspiracies of U.S. Nazis, Dieckhoff, who exempts Kuhn from such charges, continues that such ideas are ludicrous in the United States and reminiscent of Balkan intrigues in which latter they might be mildy efficacious.
