Glaucoma is not a single disease but a group of conditions with various causes that ultimately are associated with progressive damage to the optic nerve and subsequent loss of visual function.
So these diseases have a schedule of treatments of 'vathabhishyanda' which includes 'snehana', 'swedhana', 'sneha vicharana', 'vasti', 'snehaseka', 'snehenanasya', 'snaihika doomapana', 'sirovasthi' etc which in no way can be stated as to focus on the vathakopa alone.

UK charity to help in reducing eye diseases April 17, 2001 Source: The Nation European Commission (EC) has decided to grant half a million Euros (320,000 pounds) to support the Sight Savers International, a leading UK Charity, in its work of bringing eye care to one of the poorest and most remote areas of Pakistan.
Over the next four years, the EC will provide funding for a pioneering project in the North West Frontier Province (NWFP) of Pakistan to set up 10 local eye units and train local eye care workers in communities who currently face a five or six hour journey to get treatment.
