She became an influential Latin Market executive, running the Hispanic's World Fair at The Jacob Javits Convention Center in New York City for a few years.
Later, working for the Federal government of the United States she trained Cuban detainees in Guantánamo Bay, Cuba.
She also was a member of State School for The Arts serving on the Board of Trustees in New Jersey.

What separate Cubans of all races from Castro is that Cuban citizens have to sacrifice their civil rights for the sake of the economic rights.

Many Cubans have told me that this has led to reductions in the skill levels of the 'doctors' that are assigned to their localities, who in many cases are nothing more than nurses or para-medics (it is a lot quicker to train these than full fledged doctors, and Fidel has a gap to fill!)
A fully trained Cuban doctor is pretty much equivalent to one from anywhere else in the world, my concern is what level of attention are the Cubans themselves being left with whilst Fidel pawns the family jewels.
