Deimos (moon) - Encyclopedia, History, Geography and Biography
Deimos (IPA /ˈdaɪməs/ or /ˈdiːməs/; Greek Δείμος: "Dread"), is the smaller and outermost of Mars’ two moons, named after Deimos from Greek Mythology.
Deimos was discovered on August 12, 1877 at about 07:48 UTC (given in contemporary sources as "August 11 14:40" Washington mean time using the old astronomical convention of beginning a day at noon, so 12 hours must be added to get the actual local mean time) [1].
Deimos is composed of rock rich in carbonaceous material, much like C-type asteroids and carbonaceous chondrite meteorites.

 Reference.com/Encyclopedia/Phobos (moon)
Phobos was discovered by American astronomer Asaph Hall on August 18, 1877, at the US Naval Observatory in Washington, D.C., at about 09:14 GMT (contemporary sources, using the pre-1925 astronomical convention that began the day at noon, give the time of discovery as August 17 16:06 Washington mean time).
Phobos' low orbit means that Phobos will eventually be destroyed: tidal forces are lowering its orbit, currently at the rate of about 1.8 metres per century, and in 30-80 million years it will either impact the surface of Mars or (more likely) break up into a planetary ring.
Phobos' density is too low to be pure rock, however, and it is known to have significant porosity.

  Wikinfo | Phobos (moon)
Phobos and Deimos were both discovered by American astronomer Asaph Hall.
Phobos was discovered on August 12, 1877, and was first photographed close-up by Mariner 9 in 1971, Viking 1 in 1977, Phobos 2 in 1988, and by Mars Global Surveyor in 1998 and 2003.
Phobos is a dark body that appears to be composed of C-type surface materials.

Deimos is the small white spot on the edge of the glare of Mars (at 2:00) just to the left of the arrow in the photograph below.
Phobos is much more difficult to photograph than Deimos, even though it is a little larger, because it is much closer to Mars.
Phobos Shadows that proves that Phobos was still orbiting Mars are recently as September 20, 2000.

Phobos and Deimos, the two tiny satellites of Mars, are the only very small bodies that have been investigated sufficiently by spacecraft (Mariner 9 and Viking) to permit meaningful discussions of surface geologic processes (Veverka and Thomas, 1979).
No one anticipated the existence of grooves on Phobos, yet this type of feature may well be a common one on many small bodies (Thomas and Veverka, 1979).
There is every reason to expect that additional, important surface features and processes will be discovered as our exploration of small bodies proceeds, especially in the cases of small icy satellites and the nuclei of comets.

The 1324-orbit gap in the shadow image sequences between November 7, 1999 and February 23, 2000 is the result of the shadow of Phobos being north of the North Pole, as I mentioned above.

 Impact crater Summary
Some volcanic features can resemble impact craters, and brecciated rocks are associated with other geological formations besides impact craters.
Note: it is reported in the scientific literature that some "shock" features, such as small shatter cones, which are often reported as being associated only with impact events, have been found in terrestrial volcanic ejecta.

Measurements of the day and night sides of Phobos show such extreme temperature variations that the sunlit side of the moon rivals a pleasant winter day in Chicago, while only a few kilometers away, on the dark side of the moon, the climate is more harsh than a night in Antarctica.
Thermal spectrometer data indicate that the surface temperature in the shadowed region of Phobos is -170° F (-112° C), while a few kilometers away (on the sunlit side of Phobos) the temperature is +25° F (-4 ° C).
Infrared measurements of Phobos were made on August 7, 19 and 31 from distances ranging between 1,045-1,435 kilometers (648-890 miles), far enough away to capture global views of the Martian moon in a single spectrum.

Phobos 2 was also ultimately lost in the most intriguing circumstances, but not before it had beamed back certain images and information from the planet Mars itself.
Mariner 9's mapping of Phobos (12x14x17 miles or 20x23x28 kilometers) and Deimos (6x7x10 miles, or 10x12x16 kilometers) showed many craters, and left most investigators with the impression that they were merely rocky chunks that bore the scars of meteorite impacts.

In Vishwakarma, we like to think of Phobos as Deimos older brother that has all the fun and has his little brother do all the dirty work.
While Deimos contains the core API and is quite sufficient for the construction of say, a media player application, Phobos provides extensions that support the development of interactive editing software.
In contrast with Deimos, Phobos is aware of the types of Effect's parameters, inputs and outputs.
