The American public has been told on numerous occasions by the FDA, the drug manufacturers, and certain politicians, that drugs from Canada are not safe and that the high prices are justified by research and development costs.
The FDA and several politicians who are funded by the drug companies have expressed similar concerns and have also discouraged this practice.
Americans are content with their current prescription drug coverage and the affordability of drugs in the U.S. The main reason the FDA opposes drug imports from Canada is because they are concerned about the safety of U.S. citizens.
