The Learning Lab is intended to be a lab in the traditional sense—conducting an ongoing series of experiments on computer-enhanced learning.
Learning Lab applications typically seek to expand the depth of the educational experience, not extend its reach.
While Learning Lab simulations such as the OTIS equities trading simulation and the VIBE bond-trading environment teach the explicit topics presented in the simulation (equities markets and fixed-income investment strategies), often this is not the case.

 Prose Style Writing Guide
Having learned to inhabit the classic stand and to write or speak from it gives the student an invaluable instrument for dealing with any moment that calls for self-presentation or persuasion, because classic style in America is taken as a mark of the superiority of the writer.
Learning to write in a style is learning to inhabit the intellectual stand of the style; surface features to some degree follow a stand, but in ways that differ across classic stylists.
In the classic stand, a list is a presentation of what is there to be recognized, the prose is a perfect and perfectly transparent window on that reality, and the writer takes no credit for listing what is to be seen.

Rosaria Conte and Mario Paolucci: Intelligent Social Learning
One of the cognitive processes responsible for social propagation is social learning, broadly meant as the process by means of which agents' acquisition of new information is caused or favoured by their being exposed to one another in a common environment.
Social learning theories do not account for any such difference; the social release theories reduce this difference to a strictly behavioural difference: a behaviour which spreads through contagion is already in one's repertoire, whilst a learned behaviour does not yet belong to one's repertoire.
The learning process is facilitated by S in a double way: S draws O's attention on a given object, which possibly "activates" O's goal of manipulating it, and therefore leads O to exhibit the same behaviour as S. Here, propagation occurs.

John’s Singleton’s 1995 film Higher Learning uses the campus of the fictional Columbus University in California as a metaphor to address larger issues of political, sexual, and racial conflicts and prejudice that permeate American society.
Finally, the viewer is introduced to blond (white) Kristen (Kristy Swanson) as she walks across campus near the statue dressed in a blue sweater, red and blue plaid skirt, and navy knee socks.
Kristen’s white face is shown center-screen surrounded by darker faces—fl, Hispanic, and Oriental—as she sits in Professor Phipps’ class listening to Malik read the list of names, a subtle suggestion that the struggles all minorities face tend to center around interactions with whites.
