The first club to dominate was AFC Ajax, who first lost the 1969 final to Milan and then had to watch deadly rivals Feijenoord win the same title in 1970.
The ban on English clubs in European football was lifted for the 1990-91 season, but English champions Liverpool were unable to compete in the European Cup because they had to serve an extra year.

Look at Italy and Germany for example...some of their younger players may have been sacrificed and not found spots in a bigger clubs first 11 and it shows.
Then you look at a country like ours where we had a bunch of young guys leave for bigger clubs only to not find spots and ride the bench or watch the game from the luxury box in a suit because they didn't get a spot on the bench of the pitch for that game.
If you are going to treat a football club like a company then soon we will have positive discrimination where AC Milan will have to have some women in the team and maybe some minorities.
