Gay   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-09-07)
The word gay has had a sexual meaning since at least the nineteenth century (and probably before) -- in Victorian England, female and male prostitutes were called "gay" (because they dressed gaily).
It has been claimed that "gay" was derived as an acronym for "Good As You," but this is a folk etymology.
The word "gay" is also used in juvenile slang to express derision or mockery.

The show is also accused of perpetuating stereotypes of straight males, who, until the Fab Five walk in the door, are presumably clueless when it comes to fabulous taste and style.
