 Maury County Historical Society - Columbia, TN 38401
The place is listed as a National Historic Landmark and is open to tours upon contact with the owners.
In her travels she accumulated many valuable articles of furniture, table wear, art objects, etc. and used these to furnish Vine Hill when she did return.
Since she had no children, she bequeathed the old historic house and its furnishings to the Maury County Historical Society.

I believe that "Travellers' Rest" was the name given to the grove in North Augusta, SC, where virtually all Irish-American Traveller ancestors once camped together.
Hopefully that final list will contain most of the words that we've lost; although the pronunciation is going to be "by guess and by golly." At the same time, those that you would rather not see written down here won't be.

The original footpath was gradually widened, straightened and improved until, around 1850, two plank roads were constructed linking the state's largest city with its capital.
The plank road companies charged a toll to use the road and toll gates were generally erected every five miles.
