		Martial Arts do change, but there will be those that will like to stay the same within the traditions of their style.
		I have observed many martial artists that are great at defending against known offenses, however when faced in sparring against an unwilling partner their skills tend to lack in comparison.

	BudoSeek! Martial Arts Community - - Rickson Gracie records ??
		Outside of the 9-0 listed in Fight Finder (and all of those fights are recorded), there are virtually NO official records or hard evidence of Rickson's fighting record.
		There is something floating around the net that is supposed to list all 400 fights but it is fake.
		I read on the 'net (so take it for what it's worth) that the reason the hype came out was because of Mario Sperry's debut in MMA when he lost to Igor Zinoviev.

		J/K. I'm a blue belt, so that should tell you what my skill level is: Better than the white belts, not as good as the purples and browns.
		There are a few female students, maybe half or less as many as male students at my MMA school.
		I don't like the idea of segregating classes based on gender, but perhaps schools with women's "beginner" classes might be good - to help women get over the hurdle of actually starting, and then once they've been training for a few months, they can join the mixed classes.
