 Meteorology
The course includes topics such as observing the weather, clouds and precipitation, radiation and weather phenomena, the laws of motion of the atmosphere, the general circulation, air masses and fronts, cyclones and anticyclones, the weather map, and introduction to weather map analysis and interpretation, thermodynamic diagram exercises, and climate-data manipulation.
The course is designed for meteorology and other science-oriented students and includes such topics as the structure of the atmosphere, weather instrumentation, temperature, seasons, humidity, clouds, precipitation, atmospheric stability, optical phenomena, and thunderstorms and tornadoes.

This guide is aimed at the meteorological student who is either majoring in meteorology, atmospheric sciences and/or similar disciplines; also the non-science major who is searching for information on the focused topic of meteorology or weather for a class assignment.
Meteorology is based on the scientific measurement of various atmospheric conditions with a wide assortment of instruments.
Air temperature is measured with the thermometer; air pressure with the barometer; wind direction with the weather vane; wind speed with the anemometer; high-altitude air-pressure and wind information with the weather balloon; relative humidity with the hygrometer; precipitation with the rain gauge; and cloud formations and weather fronts with both radar and high-altitude weather satellites.
