Tide (SP-953)—a tug built in 1916 at Manitowoc, Wis., by the Manitowoc Shipbuilding Co.—was acquired by the Navy on 14 June 1918 from the Bay State Fishing Co., of Boston, Mass., to serve as a minesweeper in the 1st Naval District.
Though never commissioned by the Navy, she may have been armed and manned by naval reservists to patrol the waters of the 1st Naval District during the closing months of World War I. In any event, her name was struck from the Navy list sometime between November 1918 and October 1919.
In April and May, she escorted convoys in British coastal waters and engaged in exercises with minesweepers of the Royal Navy in preparation for the invasion of Europe.

I served with the Royal Navy from 1956 to 1967 and the RNR until 1981 leaving as a CPOSA (S).
These guns gave the class the greatest fire-power of any cruiser the Royal Navy had ever built, with the water cooled 6-inch and 3-inch guns capable of firing 20 and 90 rounds per minute per gun respectively (although this rate of fire would empty the magazines in a few minutes).
Blake was the last cruiser in the Royal Navy and in December 1979 ended a 100 year tradition of RN Cruisers.

I have a copy of what passes for the Canadian Navy Lists and from 1910 to October 1914 but it is reprinted extracts from the Canadian section of the RN Navy lists.
I also have copies of the Canadian sections of the RN Lists themselves beginning in Jul.(?) 1915 which includes full details of the officer complements of the ships and establishments of the RCN including auxiliary vessels.
If the crew was "navy" at all, it is possible that the existing complement was temporarily enrolled in the RNCVR as was done with the other auxiliaries.

Completed as a survey vessel she was converted to minesweeper in 1939 but was mined and sunk on 27th May 1942.
She was repaired and refloated by the German Navy - renamed UJ2109 but sunk on 17th October 1943.

I would check the Royal Navy website but the powers that be at work have set the Websense to restrict sites that come under the category military.
What people refer to as the Royal Navy is often in fact a number of organisations grouped under one command.
The website lists 99 active vessels,but this includes the small University Boats,Research ships,and the Fearless class LPDs, Survey ships, Frigates, submarines, Minesweepers and Patrol vessels that were recently sold.
