The origins of Chicago as a stage play may be decades old, but it might as well have been written yesterday, pulled right from the headlines of the today's trashiest tabloids.

Chicago is a city in the Cook County district of the northeastern part of Illinois, and the unofficial capital of the Midwest region of the United States of America.

Chicago is also known as The Second City, referring to its historical position as the United States' second largest city, after New York City, though it has long since been surpassed in population by Los Angeles.

In the final analysis, selecting America's 100 greatest movies has to be an ongoing effort of exploration and discovery--something that can happen only if we stop to consider what we still don't know about and try to set up some mechanisms for educating ourselves.

Set in London, Nick Hornby's 1995 novel chronicles the life, loves and musical obsessions of Rob Gordon, the thirtyish owner of both a failing record store and a recently broken heart.
The film bogs down in the middle, then rushes to cram too many revelations into the last 15 minutes, but John Cusack, as Rob, and the gang capture the book's music-loving, list-obsessed spirit with such loving accuracy, it's easy to forgive its minor transgressions.
The movie has all the trappings of the standard mega-'toon show: speed, wild shifts of perspective, fire and water effects, funny critters, a monster, characters who are cartoonishly flippant right down to a DNA level.
