Talk:List of neologisms on The Simpsons - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A neologism is defined as a word, term, or phrase which has been recently created, and according to this list, the words presented are supposedly creations from the series.
Let's limit a list of neologisms to words that were actually coined on the show and used unreferentially "in the wild", not intentional mispronunciations or "Simpsons universe" fictions.
The point of a neologism (at least in the context of this article) is that the term is actually intended to be a new term, and not a mispronounciation or careless use of language.

This was the first and one of the few times The Simpsons have strayed from their traditional 2D animation, and the longest, as other moments consisted of live action couch gags or short claymation or CGI television and film parodies.

 Language Log: Meh-ness to society
"Meh" is a commonly used word in the Simpsons universe, and is a sort of grunt of disinterest.
Nowadays meh has become firmly established in TV fan forums, very often extended to adjectival usage, as in "that episode was meh" or "that was a meh performance." So meh-ness was a logical next step in the description of television fare that leaves viewers unmoved.
It's not surprising that TWoP would be a fertile breeding ground for neologisms, since participants in the forums are constantly exploring innovative wordplay.

My guess is that there are only two dozen or so words actually coined by the Simpsons but I have neither the time nor (and this turns out to be the most important factor of all) the energy to fight for the purity of this list.
In any case, the list also includes words The Simpsons has "popularized" as well as a few snowclones and some words notable only for their mispronunciation, presumably to stop would-be nitpickers/fact-checkers like myself.
