Asian American Studies faculty at UCLA has, during the past 30 years, been at the forefront of developing the canon and corpus of Asian American literature—both the creation of original works of literature, and the scholarly analysis and study of literary works from the 19th century to the present.
The UCLA Asian American Studies Center published the first book on Asian American film and media (Moving the Image) in 1991 and the first book on sexual diversity and gender (Asian American Sexualities) in 1993, and both books are widely used as textbooks.
In short, the UCLA Asian American Studies IDP is the premier program of its kind in the nation and has been regarded as the innovator and standard bearer in the field for more than 25 years.

If that's a cause for fame, then UCLA would be the most famous university in the world, due to the number of films using that location as a set (representing other schools).
Many of the schools you have listed were redirected, but please understand that certain articles, like the business school, the coolege, the engineering school, teachers college, the uts, and the school of socila work have recently been expanded or have within the last month finished a major expansion.
As for the manner of the list of people, I think a lot of universitiy pages have problems with their lists, and its due the limitations of wikipedia.

Former Cougar Alumni Director and football player, Keith Lincoln, created a vision of giving back to letterwinners and creating more opportunities of having a close relationship with the athletics department and university.
In conjunction with the WSU Alumni Association and Athletic Foundation, the Gray "W" National Varsity Club invited former letterwinners to attend the official pre-game event prior to the WSU versus UCLA football game.
This alumni function was held on November 6, 2004 at the Brookside Country Club, which is adjacent to the Rose Bowl.

But, if you're determined to apply with the BIG film schools, your best shot at directing as an undergraduate is at UCLA where, if you pay, you play.
At UCLA students are required to complete a film (or video production) in their senior year.
