According to the detailed list of the Holy Synod, individuals involved in politics and the military are not allowed to become priests, while employees of Public Utilities and Services (DEKO), educators, nursing staff and legal employees that teach in universities, and are not lawyers, can.
While it accepts doctors of all specialties to enter priesthood, the Synod does not accept medical examiners and gynecologists, while it states that military men and policemen can wear become priests only if they retire, but their duties in the past cannot be incompatible towards priesthood.
The Holy Synod of the Church of Greece has given out to all the Cathedrals, a detailed list of professionals that can become priests.

 Brandon/Hill Lists Discontinued
In June, Doody Enterprises, Chicago, IL, announced its plans to publish by the fourth quarter of 2004, a core list of selected titles for small medical, nursing, and allied health libraries covering approximately 120 specialties.
In 2001, the lists were made available only by electronic access via a Website created by the Web Development Office, Mount Sinai School of Medicine, to promote unrestricted access.
Alfred Brandon and Dorothy Hill, the original authors, always intended that the selected lists would not be published under their names without their direct involvement.
