 Sexual Paradox: Holocaust
Two worrying positive feedback influences which could cause a flip to a long-term warming are melting of the polar ice caps which reduces reflectance and so increases warming and the release of massive sub-ocean methane hydrates as a result of the warming itself.
However seventy two percent is a good deal better slice of the cake than one part in eighty-six, so those seeking sexual equality in the US deserve to be mindful of the fact that their cosmetics bill would provide two-thirds of the world’s costs in reproductive health care for all women.

Suppose that two candidates are separated by just 2 percentage points in the polls (say, 49% to 47%), and the margin of error is 3 percentage points for each figure.
And suppose that two different candidates in another election -- or the same two candidates in a later poll -- are separated by 6 percentage points (say, 51% to 45%), again with a margin of error of 3 percentage points for each figure.

Gender Issues in Computer Science Education
While many people are at least somewhat aware of the low participation of women in IT careers, few realize that both the percentage and total number of bachelor's degrees awarded in Computer Science to women decreased almost every year over the last decade.
Males are much more likely to use the ‘expert’ lingo of computers than are female students (Volman, 1997), and therefore may be more likely to view themselves as proficient in the concepts behind the terms they are familiar with.
Two years in the making, and involving over 100 people, ARC has gone from a proposal to offer computer training to students from areas other than IT, to a CS diploma program training talented and enthusiastic people with little prior experience in computing.

Two weeks of amphetamine-loaded troops blasting palm trees out of the ground, two weeks of round-the-clock bulldozing, two weeks of worrying about random Japanese Zeros that would discover the site and strafe the ground with 50mm bullets.
Two days and a year later -- the fiddle was once again the connection to that solitude and while the songs have changed, the memories haven't.
There're a lot of people who really don't like placing their names on anything unless it's a thoroughly professional effort; people who feel their ideas need either vetting or editing, people who are wary of taking a position for a particular situation and feeling that they'll be held to that idea in the future.

 Engineers Explained
People who work in the fields of science and technology are not like other people.
To the engineer, all matter in the universe can be placed into one of two categories: (1) things that need to be fixed, and (2) things that will need to be fixed after you've had a few minutes to play with them.
This is much more glamorous than the real life of an engineer, which consists of hiding from the universe and having sex without the participation of other life forms.

java.net: The Blacksmith and the Bookkeeper, Part 2
This second of a three-part series of articles discusses the fitness of each profession insofar as evolving fitscapes are concerned, and compares each to the role of computer programmer.
It was the degree to which that knowledge could be extracted, standardized, and automated that determined the ultimate fitscape fate of the two professions.
As much as film, and more than television, architecture, or art, the postmodern programmer has enabled the cyber-collage, globally diverse viewless worldview that is the hallmark of Pomo entrails.

That only a tiny handful of people know of Cassini's existence is a symbol not of human ignorance, but of the concealment of information, and it's one that cannot be read separately from any other factor in this eclipse.
In all, many millions of indigenous people, hundreds of nations, thousands of tribes and communities and cultures, including advanced civilizations like the Aztecs, as well as untold forests and animals, have been executed for no reason other than they were in the way of progress.
Our first real communities will be cultures of two, three and four, as we slowly begin to feel the love and trust we are capable of expressing toward one another, and assisting one another not just in survival, not just in coping with pain, but in attaining our creative visions and personal ideals.

He said people "prefer to believe" that the reason there are fewer women in science and engineering is due to social factors and discrimination, "but there are things that need to be studied."
In an attempt to retain women in the area of scientific research WITS is proposing the introduction of a junior scholarship scheme to attract young women students into engineering and a return-to-work fellowship scheme for researchers.

People on this list have been throwing lots of assertions alleging deliberate bias in the choice of data while nearly all of us are biased in some way by our own incomplete knowledge but probably not deliberately - some even like Prof Q proudly announce their bias on the web site, and thats OK.
But an even more important clue that you don’t know what you’re talking about is that you are apparently under the assumption that science is somehow determined by “consensus.” That is a complete crock, as most people who actually know about science will tell you.
More generally, having had the chance to read several of your contributions, I don't think a continued exchange would be very constructive at present.
