East Sussex is a county in South East England.
It is bordered by the counties of Kent, Surrey and West Sussex and, to the south, by the English Channel.
The county of Sussex was divided into an eastern and western administrative regions, with separate county councils in 1888 but it remained a single county until 1974 when the new counties of East Sussex and West Sussex were created.

The list consists of oxen, sheep, geese, hens, honey, ale, loaves, cheese, butter, fodder, salmon and eels.
The prevalence of the co-operative principle, it may be observed, was doubtless due in large measure to the fact that the greater part of England, especially towards the east, was settled not in scattered farms or hamlets but in compact villages with the cultivated lands lying round them.

 Sussex History - East Preston - Schools Part I
In East Preston, Edmund Bushby set fire to a corn stack on the Homestead Farm, and for this he was convicted at the Lewes Assizes, and suffered the brutal revenge of society on New Year's Day 1831, by being hung in public.
East Preston was typical of local parishes in having experienced a 50% increase since 1800, and continued growth was to be expected.
It should not be placed in the few remaining panels of flintwork in the building, but rather in one of the rendered panels, as close as possible to the small room built in 1840 as the Sunday School.

 Sussex History - C20th East Preston
RA Warren of Preston Place had the tenancy of this farm, and the farm house was currently used as cottages, following the decease of Mr Haines the previous tenant farmer.
The land attached to them included plots to the south and east, and all of this, excluding the cottage at the west end which had already been sold, was purchased by William Hollis in 1924 for £3250.
The name Vermont is a little of the USA in East Preston, for it undoubtedly derives from the state of Vermont, the homeplace of Mr Fairbanks.

It was placed second to a poem by Winthrop Mackworth Praed, afterwards to become well-known as one of the most graceful and polished of English minor poets.
He began to take special interest in the prisons and the lunatic asylum, was placed on the boards of the county hospital and the lunatic asylum, and personally visited the inmates and obtained much influence over them.
In 1904 he entered the assembly again as member for Sussex, and from August 1905 to May 1906 was minister for works in the Rason (q.v.) ministry.

To list everything that we ate would take up the rest of the page, which would be plain boring.
The fact that the children's menu was a derisory £6 meant that the bill came to £182.80, which included a bottle of crackerjack Sancerre for £19.75 and a perfectly decent pinot noir for £18.75, which, as any keen student of the modern wine list will tell, is not overpriced.

It is a great place to have a break and is very convenient as a stop off point when travelling to the continent due to the Ferry Terminal only 4 miles away in Newhaven with a direct link to Dieppe.
This is based in and under the Martello Tower on the seafront at the far east of the town.

In the scenic but easily accessible Arun valley, the RSPB has restored wet grassy meadows, which flood in winter.  Controlled flooding gives a refuge to thousands of ducks, geese, swans and wading birds.  Many breed in the summer, along with songbirds such as nightingales, and many colourful butterflies.

East Sussex Drug and Alcohol Action Team (DAAT) brings together representatives of all the local agencies involved in tackling the misuse of drugs and alcohol, including the Primary Care Trusts, Local Authorities, Police, Probation, Social Services, Education and Youth Services, and the voluntary sector.
The DAAT will be appointing an Alcohol Strategy Officer in October to develop a three year East Sussex Alcohol Strategy.
Demand for treatment places far outstrips supply and there is a huge waiting list for alcohol treatment, largely due to the lack of pooled budgets from central Government.

Note that most of the titles listed in Amazon for Gordon Press are actually long out of print; many of these books are in the public domain, meaning they are not covered by copyright restrictions.
The other four(?) books appear in a special list which precedes the 335 out of print entries, which are evidently available through a network of used bookstores and not from Gordon Press Publications at all.

I have not discovered whether the 'gentlemen' in vestry assembled did allow poor Mr Clark the necessary funds for him to get married and take his bride to Sydney, but I imagine that in their haste to rid themselves of yet another pauper they would have consented and thought it money well spent.
Amoung the list of families to be sent out in 1838 at Udimore had been those of Samuel Lawrence and Frank Whiteman; for some reason they did not then go.

This small woodland reserve is managed by coppicing.  A wide range of woodland birds breed including nightingales, spotted flycatchers and great and lesser spotted woodpeckers.
The Nature Reserve is in the Rother District in the County of East Sussex, England.
It lies on the coast to the south of the Cinque Port town of Rye and to the west of the River Rother.
