		This is a list of political parties around the world in the form of a table including links to the lists of political parties in the countries and entities listed in the list of countries, showing which party system is dominant in each country.
		A political party is a political organization subscribing to a certain ideology or formed around very special issues with the aim to participate in power, usually by participating in elections.
		Individual parties are properly listed in separate articles under each nation.

		While not formally a single-party state, all political life in Syria is controlled by the Ba'th Party through a political "front", much like in the former German Democratic Republic.
		Since 1972, other parties that accept the leadership role of the Ba'th Party and support the government's socialist and Arab nationalist orientation have been allowed to operate under severe restrictions, as members of the National Progressive Front.
		In 2005, the Syrian Social Nationalist Party was licenced without being required to join the Front; it is also the first that is neither socialist nor Pan-Arab to be legalized (with the possible exception of the Communist Party).
