  Britain.tv Wikipedia - The WB
It was estimated in 2005 that the WB was viewable by 91.66% of all households, reaching 90,282,480 houses in the United States.
The WB was carried by 177 VHF and UHF stations in the U.S., counting both owned-and-operated and affiliated stations (the owned and operated stations were not actually operated by Warner Bros. or Time Warner; instead, Tribune owned and operated these stations, thus its stake in the network).
The final image broadcast on the WB was of former mascot Michigan J. Frog taking a final bow after a clip montage thanked the audience for eleven years of service.

The WB Network is widely recognized as the first television network to capitalize on the trend toward increasingly fragmented television audiences.
By targeting programming specifically to teens and to young adults, the WB has established a focused and successful broadcast network in an era defined by cable television's incursion into the national television broadcast audience.
Clearly, the people at the WB have been successful in meeting their goals of establishing a well-received brand identity among today's young and highly desirable consumers, and the Academy's recognition for some of its programming is sure to follow.

UPN - Encyclopedia, History, Geography and Biography
UPN is one of only two of the broadcast networks (i is the other) not to air a children's programming block on weekend mornings.
Reasons included FCC restrictions on quantity of advertising on children's programs, the content of such advertising, the fact syndicators were moving their best product to cable only, and the growth of cable channels directed at children (which have fewer advertising restrictions).
Also some UPN stations air a block of cartoon programming from DIC Entertainment (Trollz and Sabrina: The Animated Series) which is designed to meet minimal educational and informational programming requirements set by the FCC, and usually airs either six days a week for a half-hour each day, or in three hour-long blocks throughout the week.

Nevertheless, there is widespread opinion in right-wing blogs such as free republic that the program was poorly produced and failed as a last-minute effort to boost Bush in swing states.
Broadcasting "Stolen Honor" this close to the election would have violated the Fairness Doctrine, an FCC rule that mandated stations, as holders of scarce broadcasting licences, provide balanced coverage of political issues.
The program instead is intended to be an attack on Senator Kerry and thus is not the result of decisions made on the basis of newsworthiness rather than to advance or retard a particular candidate.

Template:Infobox Network The WB Television Network, casually referred to as The WB, or sometimes as The Frog (referring to the network's former mascot, the animated character Michigan J. Frog), is a television network in the United States, founded as a joint venture between the Warner Bros. film studio and Tribune Company on January 11, 1995.
Because of this, in January 2006, the weekday afternoon block of Kids' WB was replaced by Daytime WB, which is composed of the syndication of ER and 8 Simple Rules.
During the mid-1990s when it was launched, The WB began having most of its stations branded as "WB" or "The WB", then the channel number, with the call signs nearby.

African-Americans continue to be significantly larger consumers of television than whites or Hispanics, representing 14 percent of the total primetime audience for the sixth straight season, according to an in-depth study released by TN Media.
She attributes this to a recent trend that has seen a number of broadcast networks offering more multi-ethnic casts in their programs, which can both appeal to a wider variety of ethnic groups and to different demographic elements among the fl viewership.
Only Fox and WB decreased the number of shows they were running this season that had fl casts or lead characters.

The slight increase in Kids' WB ratings has not overcome their steady slide in viewers for the last few years (due mainly to the waning interest in Pokemon).

Unlike the "Big Four" broadcast networks, The CW does not seem to have any current plans to offer national news or sports programming to their affiliates, however, many stations may broadcast local news and/or sports.
The WB and UPN were the first major television networks to close since the collapse of the DuMont Television Network in 1955, although other small broadcast television networks have also ceased operations over the years.

THURSDAYS - Considering that the WB aired four original programs - "Steve Harvey's Big Time," "All About the Andersons," "The Jamie Kennedy Experiment" and "Run of the House" - on Thursday nights at this point last season, it's downright scary that airing theatrical films in their place has resulted in nearly duplicate numbers.
If anything the only thing working in its favor at this point is that it's unlikely the WB will scrap the entire night not to mention move one of its existing dramas.
Much like the other broadcast networks, the WB is shooting about as many pilots as last season and in similar ratios (10 comedies and 8 dramas this season, 8 comedies and seven dramas last season).

I mean, it makes sense - most WB affiliates are NOT the #1 or #2 in their markets, and having to compete with the entire cable nemesis, plus a mammoth like WGN who's airing your EXACT SAME programming, only adds kerosene to the fire.
It would probably be safer to say that if WGN stops broadcasting WB programming on a national level, this action will have taken place at the WB's request as opposed to WGN initiating it.
And most likely the WB is negotiating with other stations around the country all of the time, so perhaps very few people will actually be effected if and when WGN stops sending out the WB feed to the rest of North America.
