The NGMDB (http://ngmdb.usgs.gov/) is a great place to find "information about maps and related data for: geology, hazards, earth resources, geophysics, geochemistry, geochronology, paleontology, and marine geology." This is an ongoing project of the United States Geological Survey and the Association of American State Geologists.
Go to the USGS Home Page, click on the "Publications" button near the top of the page, click on "Publications Warehouse"; once a search is completed, click on the "More info" link to the left of a document to get the complete information, and, if available, a link to the document online.
Note that the search engine in the Publications Warehouse is not as sopishicated as the one in GeoRef, so fewer and/or less accurate results may be obtained.
