List of spacewalks and moonwalks - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
All spacewalks have had the astronauts tethered to their spacecraft except for seven spacewalks by the U.S. (six in 1984 using the Manned Maneuvering Unit, one in 1994 using the SAFER rescue device).
All moonwalks saw astronauts untethered and some had astronauts travelling far enough to lose visual contact with their craft.
Spacewalk beginning and ending times are given in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC).

The spacewalkers also set up the payload bay for mission specialists Tom Akers and Kathy Thornton who replaced the telescope's two solar arrays during the second spacewalk which began at 10:35 pm EST today.
In anticipation of that spacewalk, Musgrave and Hoffman prepared the solar array carrier which is located in the forward portion of the cargo bay, and attached a foot restraint on the telescope to assist in the solar array replacement.
Spacewalking crew members during that flight were Thomas D. Akers, Richard J. Hieb and Pierre J. Thuot.

 Moonwalk
Although when most people think of the moonwalk they think of the signature Michael Jackson move, it was first popularized by James Brown, and the back-sliding move James Brown and Michael Jackson did is not the official moonwalk.
The Moonwalk is actually a 4 corner illusion dance, which makes it seem as if you are sliding around in a square shape on the floor.
The idea of the moonwalk is to give the illusion that the dancer is walking forwards while mysteriously moving backwards, giving the appearance that the dancer is sliding unnaturally backwards even though he should be moving forwards.

For organization's sake, the moves listed here are classified in three categories.
Toprock moves are generally performed from a standing position and do not involve dropping to the floor.
When a true moonwalk is performed, the dancer glides around on their feet in a similar way as a backslide, but travels in a circular, rather than linear, path.

The moonwalk is a well known breakdance move that gained widespreadpopularity after being performed by Michael Jackson, first on the 1983 television special Motown 25: Yesterday, Today, Forever, and has since become his signature move.Indeed, although he did not invent the move, the move is closely associated with him.
The idea of the moonwalk is to give the illusion that the dancer is walking forwards whilst mysteriously moving backwards, giving the appearance that the dancer is sliding unnaturally backwards even though he should be moving forwards.
As stated before, when done properly the dancer looks like he is walking forward normally, however this is not true, in fact, neither foot ever should be lifted entirely off the ground.
