Summary Of Special Session June 28th |
 | | The legislation would have lengthened the list of violent crimes for which convicts would be compelled to serve at least 85 percent of their prison sentences before parole could even be considered. |
 | | Under existing state law, the "11 deadly sins" are first-degree murder, first-degree rape, first-degree burglary, child abuse, child pornography, child prostitution, lewd molestation of a child, robbery with a dangerous weapon, first-degree arson, forcible sodomy, and bombing. |
 | | To that list would have been added any conviction for drive-by shooting, assault and battery with a deadly weapon "or by other means likely to produce death or great bodily harm," manufacturing or trafficking in drugs, bombing, child abuse, child pornography, child prostitution, sexual abuse or sexual exploitation. |
