		The United Kingdom, often confusingly referred to as "Britain", is a constitutional monarchy and a "unitary state", composed by the political union of four constituent entities: the three constituent countries of England, Scotland, and Wales on the island of Great Britain, and the province of Northern Ireland on the island of Ireland.
		It is one of the more populous member states of the European Union and a founding partner of both the UN (with a permanent seat on the Security Council) and NATO.

	NCSLnet: State Crime Legislation in 2000
		A Florida special session in early 2000 resulted in an enactment stating the intent of the Legislature to reduce delay in capital cases and ensure that all appeals and post-conviction actions in capital cases are resolved within five years of date of sentence of death.
		In response to a state Supreme Court decision, Washington clarified that all prior convictions be included in a defendant score under the guidelines and in accordance with the law in effect on the day the current offense was committed.
