Belarusian was the state language of the Grand Duchy until 1697, in part owing to the strong flowering of Belarusian culture during the Renaissance through the works of leading Belarusian humanists such as Frantzisk Skaryna.
Suffering massive population losses under Soviet leader Josif Stalin and the German Nazi occupation, Belarus was retaken by the Soviets in 1944.
The United States and Belarus signed a government-to-government umbrella agreement on CTR assistance in 1992, seven agency-to-agency CTR implementing agreements, and one memorandum of understanding and cooperation; the umbrella agreement was extended for one year in October 1997, but has now expired.

After the state board has approved the teacher intern preparation program filed by an institution, teacher intern candidates who complete the program and are recommended by the authorized official of that institution will be issued the appropriate license and endorsement(s).
“State empowerment team” means the central office of empowerment and identified personnel from the state agencies of education, public health, human services, and human rights to provide the day–to–day operational work of local– and state–level community empowerment and support to the Iowa board.
State or regional technical assistance may be provided, upon request, to assist in the resolution of a disagreement arising in empowerment areas or community boards.

States will use their portion of the REA funds to assist districts in preparing for two statewide subgrant competitions as well as for monitoring and leadership activities during the subgrants.
The state's 11 eligible districts are located in the central piedmont section with diverse ethnic populations, including pockets of English language learners needing extra help, and coastal regions with rural, high poverty communities.
The State will support a systematic approach to literacy development that includes a system of assessment to identify children who are at risk of early reading failure; alignment of state standards and assessments, a continuous literacy curriculum from preschool through grade four, ongoing professional development; and family literacy strategies.

Visitors on the noncontact list at the time of a schedule change will be notified of the schedule change by regular mail sent to the last–known address.
