The Supreme Court of the State is even more like the provincial Supreme Court, and the county courts are substantially the same as the Courts of Common Pleas which functioned in each county from 1691 to the end of the Crown period in 1775, and from the beginning of the State period to 1847.
New York City was apparently recognized as the logical State headquarters of the court, for the office of the clerk was to be there, and in it all court papers were to be filed, the deputy clerk at Albany forwarding the papers of' that office to New York every half-year.
New York State was rapidly growing; its population was rapidly changing in character; the conservative provincial families were being outnumbered by the thousands of immigrant families that debarked at New York and settled in different parts of the State, the change being most evident after the opening of the Erie Canal.

DEP, local and state government and private landowners worked together to clean up water in the park’s swimming area, which was impacted by bacteria from nearby septic tanks and farms.
The Seminole Indians named the river Loxahatchee meaning “river of turtles.” The coffee-colored river is home to a variety of wildlife, including otters, herons, alligators and bobcats, and borders a subtropical swamp with ancient bald cypress trees, pond apples, orchids and osprey.
An equestrian trail, education and research center, and hiking trails along the Atlantic ridge are planned improvements to the Park.

By 1690 the Iroquois were on the defensive, but after the failed offensive in 1684 and La Barre's concession of their homeland, the Illini did not entirely trust the French.
The leader of one of the most important tribes of the French alliance, Pontiac's mother was an Ojibwe, and he was also an important member of the Metai (Grand Medicine Society), a secret religious society in most of the Great Lakes tribes.
In October, 1832 the leaders of 140 remaining Illini met with William Clark (George Rogers' kid brother) at Castor Hill (St. Louis) and in exchange for all their claims to land in Illinois and Missouri, were given 150 sections in eastern Kansas.

The prime item sought by the state was the personal handprinted book of Royal Gov. Robert Barclay from the period of 1664-88 that provides the minutes of the 41 meetings in London of the Lord Proprietors of East Jersey.
The state acquired the book, which includes documentation of the earliest government in the state, and all the maps that had been separated.
Klett said the state is preparing to display copies of the documents inside the archives building starting in October, with the original documents displayed for a day at the Morven museum near downtown Princeton Borough.

State archivists are anxious to get hold of the 11 yellowed artifacts, including a thick book that contains the first constitution of the colony of East Jersey and details its settlement from 1682 to 1684.
The state has determined it wants 11 of these documents, which will be sold at New York’s famous auction house on June 21 by the former president of the Philadelphia Flyers hockey team.
