Hawaii again becomes the first and only state in the union to experiment with a new bad law, in a series of bad laws, to have the state government fix the price of petroleum.
The United States Senate may be voting on the controversial "Akaka Bill" that is supposed to grant certain rights to the Native Hawaiian people, allows them to create a "governing entity" and place them under the auspices of the Dept. of Interior on September 6.
Several of Hawaii's leaders including the Governor, were in Washington D.C. to lobby for the bill in July and will be there again next week.
