		Connecticut was the fifth of the original 13 states ratifying the Constitution of the United States on January 9, 1788, and it played an important role in the development of the United States.
		The state’s armaments industry was an important supplier of firearms during World War I (1914-1918) and World War II (1939-1945), and the world’s first nuclear-powered submarine was launched from a Connecticut shipyard in 1954.
		It established the present form of the Congress of the United States: a lower house in which the states are represented on the basis of population and an upper house in which they are represented equally.

	Chronicles of Oklahoma
		The Senecas retained this land until 1867 when the United States, in order to relocate Eastern tribes residing in Kansas, by treaty, gave to the Wyandot tribes the northern half of the Seneca reservation and to the Peoria tribes the northern half of the mixed Seneca and Shawnee reservation.
		Expressing a desire to unite and become citizens of the United States, a treaty was made in June, 1862, whereby the lands held were allotted in severalty to the members of the tribe and a provision was made that the Ottawa should become citizens in five years.
		The Wea entered into the various treaties between the Ohio Indians and the United States and in 1818, for relinquishing their claims to all lands in Indiana, Ohio, and Illinois, they were given a reservation in central western Indiana.

	Plymouth Court Houses
		The County Court House… is one of the finest buildings of the kind in the state, and the judges of different courts give it preference in pointy of beauty, convenience, etc. over all they visit.
		Samuel Sewall was a Justice of the Massachusetts Supreme Court from 1692, and Chief Justice from 1718 to 1728.
		It is interesting, too, that the two buildings where the courts have sat since 1749 are both standing, that of 1820 still in active use for the purpose for which it was built.

	Chesterfield County, Virginia \| Sheriff's Department - History of the Sheriff's Office
		The section of Virginia now known as Chesterfield County was formerly a part of “Henricus.” On May 12, 1749 a "Commission of the Peace" was issued by Governor William Gooch that created a judicial body to administer general laws.
		Stanhope was famous for his "good manners and writings." Part of the act states the reasoning for the division: For the ease and convenience of the inhabitants of the County of Henrico in attending courts and other public meetings.
		Of the names listed, Thomas Burfoot was the Quartermaster, Edward Steward was listed as the youngest soldier, and Barron Von Stueben was a "hard core" drills Sergeant.

		Peyton Randolph was on the fl list of patriots the British proposed to arrest and hang after he presided over the Continental Congress in 1775.
		Twenty-five burgesses met at Peyton Randolph's house on May 30 and scheduled a state convention to be held on August 1 to consider a proposal from Boston for a ban on exports to England.
