 Florida Mental Illness Law
Patients treated in facilities of the United States Government shall be solely those whose care is the responsibility of the United States Department of Veterans Affairs.
An evaluation completed upon discharge from a state mental hospital meets the requirements of this subsection related to appropriateness for placement as a mental health resident if it was completed within 90 days prior to admission to the facility.
Any other facility within the state, including a private facility or a federal facility, may be so designated by the department, provided that such designation is agreed to by the governing body or authority of the facility.

Most states recognize that many families may not choose to put their family member’s name on a waiting list, if they believe it is unlikely to result in a service.
Each state needs to weigh the value of the information in Table 2 based on what is known within the state about the waiting list and the state’s effort to alleviate the waiting for families and individuals.

Calling on the resources of multiple state and federal agencies, the Utah Commissioner of Agriculture and Food, Cary G. Peterson is announcing comprehensive efforts to expand and strengthen programs aimed at keeping Foot and Mouth Disease out of Utah.
While traditional procedures aimed at keeping this and other livestock diseases out of the state have been in place for many years, the department is "tightening the preventative filter" in the wake of recent outbreaks of foot-and-mouth disease in foreign countries.
UDAF veterinarians are working with private vets and animal owners around the state to help both small and large livestock owners identify potential health problems.

On September 18, 1996 a group of 50 state officials, local education leaders and academics gathered in Sacramento to discuss both the immediate questions raised by the rapid implementation of the California Class Size Reduction Act, and the larger analytical questions raised by the legislation.
The California State University Institute for Education Reform and the Intersegmental Coordinating Committee, under the auspices of the California Education Round Table, sponsored an intersegmental symposium to discuss implications of the K-12 reforms for higher education in an effort to identify ways in which postsecondary institutes can be more supportive of changes and reforms.

The budget includes a 7.5 percent tuition increase for state university students and what Bush said is an increase of $201 per student in public schools and $78-million to improve nursing home care.
In 1999, state senators took Bush to court over some of his vetoes, and the lawmakers won.
State Rep. Mike Fasano, R-New Port Richey, said it took a flurry of last-minute lobbying of Bush to get some of his most expensive pet projects approved.

As Geoff explained, most states have assessment methodologies that explain (some in clearer terms than others) the data requirements and process used to establish whether a waterbody is meeting its designated uses.
Whether or not a state chooses to use volunteer data to make the use assessment (determination of fully supporting, not supporting) is based, in part, on the state's described assessment methodologies and the explanation of the level of rigor needed for the data.
