Sutra (सूत्र) in Sanskrit is derived from the verb √siv, meaning to sew.
In Buddhism, the term "sutra" refers generally to canonical scriptures that are regarded as records of the oral oral teachings of Gautama Buddha.
The Pali form of the word sutra is sutta, and is used exclusively to refer to Buddhist scriptures, particularly those of the Pali Canon.

Further research is needed to establish the nature of the Sutras and their full range of application, possibly along the lines described here and for this we would probably need the participation of psychologists and cognitive scientists.

I read a review about Sutras (not on Amazon) where they were criticizing Rick Rubin's production on Sutras for having "too much compression" and sounding "too modern." I'm sorry, but I think Rick is a genius and everything he did on this album sounds great.
"Sutras" means "teachings" in the language of Eastern religion but you need not be a seeker to appreciate this lyrical and musical accomplishment.
