	TOWN PLANNING
		If the town grows by, say, 5,000 people in the coming decades, chances are that growth will take the form of sprawl, with developer subdivisions and strip commercial development along the major roads.
		There must be some way to steer the town's development so that we end up with a real town--with a town center, real neighborhoods, and so on--rather than the kind of centerless sprawl we see all around the country.
		The issue of development is a hot topic in town and the subject of a referendum scheduled for later this month on whether or not to allow big-box retailers like Walmart to locate there.
