Agriculture in Georgia was in a state of transition at the beginning of the 20th century.
In 1619, when Georgia was harried by Shah Abbas of Persia, Theimuraz (f6291634), king of Georgia, appealed for help to Michael, the first of the Romanov tsars of Russia, and his example was followed later in the century by the rulers of other petty Thargamosid or Caucasian states, namely Imeretia and Guria.

 Washington County on the East Coast of Maine
It was incorporated as a town on June 16, 1809, and a city charter was granted on August 24, 1850.
This town of 198 is on the southern end of West Grand Lake, one of the biggest lakes in Maine which enters into many more lakes on its northern and western extremities.
When the town was incorporated in 1818 it was named for Commodore Oliver H. Perry who, as commander of a squadron in 1813, had defeated the British on Lake Erie.
