The recorded temperature in South Carolina has ranged from –28.9° C (–20° F), in 1977 at Caesars Head in the NW, to 43.9° C (111° F), in 1925 at Blackville and Calhoun Falls in the W and in 1954 at Camden in the central part of the state.
South Carolina was the first state to secede from the Union (Dec. 20, 1860), and the attack on Fort Sumter, in Charleston Harbor, on April 12, 1861, marked the beginning of the American Civil War.

They were in town for urban warfare stuff if I remember correctly.
Another airfield in SC that you keep hearing stories about special ops exercises taking place at is North Auxiliary Field (it's part of Charleston AFB technically although it's closer to Orangeburg and Columbia.) Eric Haney mentions it as a site of dog and pony shows for the brass in Inside Delta Force.
Presently these lists include the Department of the Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control Specially Designated Nationals List, the Department of Justice's Terrorist Exclusion List, and the list annexed to Executive Order 13224.
