		One who engages in turntablism is a turntablist, a term probably coined by DJ Babu.
		The International Turntablist Federation is an organisation which aims to promote turntablism, it also organises a turntablist world championship on a yearly basis (1997 - Present).
		Battling involves each turntablist performing a routine (a combination of tricks) within a limited time period, after which, the routine is judged by a panel of expert judges.

		A lot of people have been dying to hear this stuff for a long time now.
		Along with DJs Jester and Q-bert, Z-Trip is one of AQ's favorite turntablists, always delightfully mashing up the hip hop with classic rock (and doing it live not on a computer, as he points out in his liner notes, and as you'll hear on this cd).
		Lots of crispy, crunchy hi-hats and boomy-muffled bass surround the vocalists in a sandwich of audio love.

		But, that said: a damn lot has been said on the damn saxophone, and there not only IS an enormous amount of fascinating, diverse electro/acoustic music being made now, but there has been for decades.
		This list is my most valuable resource, and for the e/a stuff in particular I owe Caleb, Jon, Brian O, Ashline and number of other folks big ups.
		The "live" component, the immediacy of the sound, the lack of cavernous "Eich-o" and reverb which clipped the edges off the two ECM e/a ensemble recs...Parker's saxophone seems here to be a lot more susceptible to the electronics, and the direct sound of the sax is very dry, very close.

		Cut Chemist and DJ Nu-Mark, members of old school hip hop collective Jurassic 5, and Mixmaster Mike, who collaborated with the Beastie Boys on 1998's Hello Nasty, are also known as virtuosi of the turntables.
