The OUAC was founded in 1971 by the Council of Ontario Universities and the Ontario Universities' Council on Admissions, as the benefits of central application processing were recognized.
Currently, the OUAC handles undergraduate applications, and professional applications for Ontario's medical, law, education, and rehabilitation sciences programs.
