Bank of America and Recreational Equipment Inc. are in court, fighting over ownership of a valuable list of credit card customers that REI provided to U.S. Bank after ending a 20-year relationship with Bank of America.
Bank of America and Chase Manhattan Bank filed the lawsuit against REI on Feb. 20, claiming breach of contract and misappropriation of the cardholder list.
The lawsuit, filed in King County Superior Court, was sealed and couldn't be accessed by the public at the request of attorneys, who said they wanted to protect proprietary information.
