The provincial government's much-vaunted Youth Summit (the Sommet du Quebec et de la jeunesse, to be exact) will be held in Quebec City next week--but the list of Summit invitees reads more like a who's who of aging greybeards.
All told, of the 40-plus organizations invited to participate in the Summit, only 11 could rightfully be considered "youth organizations." By contrast, the list of youth organizations that weren't invited is far longer.
Now a new umbrella youth group has been born: CAP Jeunesse, whose only purpose in life is to oppose the Youth Summit.

The workgroup reported progress on its draft of a more youth-oriented and user/reader friendly document and the draft guidelines for an inquiry to be conducted with youth and young adults with disabilities.
The YAC is also sharing some preliminary youth input with NCD staff for the anticipated early June draft IDEA document.
The public was reminded that recruitment to replace the remaining five Youth Advisory Committee (YAC) charter members had begun and that NCD will specifically target recruitment efforts to insure that the membership reflects diversity (i.e., types of disabilities, cultures and geographic regions and so forth).
