		She is a singer’s singer with a style and charisma which endeared her to generations and the marvellous music of Lita Roza is as effervescent today as the lady herself.
		After a brief spell in the United States where she gained experience in cabaret Lita returned to the UK and was soon to begin her association with the Ted Heath band at one of his famous London Palladium “Sunday Swing Sessions”.
		I’d have given Lita a medal for her singing but she has one for something else which should be an inspiration to all diabetics.

		Roza Karpuch who lives with her husband Moshe in Petach Tikvah, Israel, today is the sole survivor of the Olshvang family who remained in Lithuania.
		The daughter of Ephraim (Froyimke) and Yocheved Schneider Olshvang, Roza managed by a miracle to escape the shootings at the pits in the Geruliai forest with her mother’s younger sister, Tova Schneider.
		Roza, aged 10, was one of the children and in a recent interview she recalls how her mother A’H Yochved Olshvang had said it would be better to go and be shot first so as not to suffer.

		I would place this as Lita's most overall enjoyable album, despite the fact that there are some bigger hits and very memorable songs on both Lita and Stiletto.
		After years with the Runaways and her first solo album in 1983, Lita finally hits the mark.The guitar playing is tight and impressive,and Lita's vocals sound much better on this cd than her first one.

		Lita left the Heath band during 1954 and remarried in 1956- this time to fellow musician Ronnie Harris- trumpet player with the Geraldo Orchestra.
		The EP shown on the right (DFE6386) - with a wonderful picture of the singer- is the earliest that I've so far come across bearing Lita's name; possibly it is her first, but I cannot confirm that.
		In any event, like most of Lita Roza's early output on vinyl, this record is very hard to find and not usually cheap to buy.
