Profile: Chivalrous, well-skilled in the art of war, Kranix is a friar warrior and the last survivor of the planet Lithone.
Like all Lithones, Kranix possesses a high percentage of emotional circuits in his computer brain.
His neutron-propelled engines give him an almost infinite range as they can use even the smallest atomic particle in space to power them, though because of the scarcity of such particles Kranix's speed is literally slowed to a crawl once his fuel reserves are exhausted.

Meanwhile on Quintessa, Hot Rod and Kup, separated from the Dinobots, are captured and taken to be put on trial before a Quintesson Imperial Magistrate in a mock trial and REAL execution for the Quintesson's amusement.
They watched as Kranix, the last survivor of Lithone is fed to the Quintesson's executioners, the Sharkticons.

Barring a few distorted lines of dialogue, this entire prologue is visual—the only exposition is the brief line from one of the victims: "It's Unicron!" Otherwise, all viewers are left drifting, no matter what their prior knowledge of Transformers.
Halfway through the film, we have a sequence where Hot Rod and Kup, separated from the others, are taken custody by an alien species, the Quintessons, and have to fight for their lives.
Kup and Hot Rod are then rescued by the Dinobots and Wheelie in the middle of their own execution and go to rejoin the other Autobots and the main story.
