	Little America - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
		Little America is an Antarctic exploration base, located on the Ross Shelf Ice, south of the Bay of Whales.
		Little America, the base of operations, established the first successful radio broadcasting from Antarctica, making regular broadcasts that could be picked up by household radio sets in the United States, more than 11,000 miles away around the Earth's curvature.
		Although he made no mention of this fact to his men in Little America during radio contact, they became suspicious that something was wrong.

		In 2001, a North Dakota resident named Ronald Karyance Delorme, claiming to be the hereditary chief of the "Little Shell Band of Indians of North America," filed a federal lawsuit that sought recognition as well as funds from appropriations statutes pertaining to Chippewa land claims.
		By 2004 the Little Shell Band claimed to be a "completely sovereign tribe" that held "allodial title" to over 53 million acres of land (for some reason, this figure was later increased to 62 million).
		Little Shell members commonly try to avoid the consequences of lawsuits or prosecutions by claiming that the courts lack jurisdiction over them or by transferring contested items, such as property, to the Little Shell Band.

	Preserve America Community: Little Compton, Rhode Island
		Preserve America is a White House initiative in cooperation with the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation; the U.S. Departments of Defense, Interior, Agriculture, Commerce, Housing and Urban Development, Transportation, and Education; the National Endowment for the Humanities; the President's Committee on the Arts and Humanities; and the President's Council on Environmental Quality.
		The town of Little Compton, Rhode Island, was founded by explorers from Plymouth Colony seeking to expand their settlement along the Massachusetts coastline.
		The society, in partnership with the town and local foundations, recently rescued an 18th century barn threatened with destruction, moved it to Little Compton, and refitted it as a state-of-the-art storage facility for historic artifacts.

		Again this year, all local Little Leagues are required to conduct background checks on Managers, Coaches, Board of Directors members and any other persons, volunteers or hired workers, who provide regular service to the league and/or have repetitive access to, or contact with, players or teams.
