Little Audrey - Don Markstein's Toonopedia
Little Audrey very likely has her origin in an idea on the part of Famous Studios bean counters, that they didn't need to pay licensing fees to make cartoons about Little Lulu.
Audrey did better in comic books, where she was licensed, along with Casper, Baby Huey and the rest of the Famous Studios characters, in 1948 by St. John Publishing Co. The first issue was cover-dated in April of that year.
Little Lotta was a compulsive eater, Richie Rich was fabulously wealthy, Hot Stuff was a demon from Hell … Audrey just couldn't stand out in a crowd like that, and she wasn't as good a character as Lulu in the first place.

One particularly interesting Audrey story after she moved to Harvey was in "Little Audrey" #31, in which she discusses her rise to fame as a Famous Paramount character.
As Audrey was a backup feature for only the previously canceled "TV Casper and Company", she did not make a return to comics until being featured in "Richie Rich and his Girlfriends", marking the first time Richie and Audrey "officially"met.
Audrey had a brief revival for eight issues during the Jeff Montgomery era, but currently her comic book status (as with all Harvey characters) is in limbo, but she had appeared recently in "The Harvey Magazine".

04-18-2006 01:18 PM My personal opinion is that in an effort to understand the tragedy that happened to this little girl the family latched on to the idea of her being a "victim soul " to help them deal with such a difficult situation.
However, the seeming cult that has grown up around her and things such as oil from statues (which is very easy to fake and always gives me pause to suspect trickery) make me also think that some people in the family are taking advantage of the sitution for personal gain.
