I saw several Little Bustards in mid-late April 2003 on the plains of La Serena on the road heading north across the plain from Castuera.

fields on the 10th-11th and a Little Bustard was found in the Beit Shean valley on the 20th.
The Long-toed Stint, probably a bird moulting into adult plumage was seen feeding alongside Little Stints and we are attaching an image of the bird with a Little Stint for direct comparison.

We found a little hill on the edge of the reservoir and decided to scan the area from there.
As several Great Bustards suddenly took flight at once, we discovered a young Golden Eagle flying low over the steppes thus disturbing their displays and courtship for a while.
A few males of Little Bustard began displaying, and a couple of them even had a big aerial 'discussion' about the rights to display in a particularly inviting piece of grassland.
