Eric Boehlert: Little Green Footballs, Staged War Photos, and the Story the Press Won't Tell - Media on The Huffington ...
As Little Green Footballs, the right-wing warblog, continues to be toasted in the press for helping ferret out a Reuters news photo that was marginally altered to show a smoldering, bombed-out Beirut in the wake of a recent bombing, you might say that practice has made perfect for LGF.
Back in 2004 and 2005 LGF helped lead the charge in accusing a local Associated Press photographer in Iraq of working in concert with Iraqi insurgents and staging the public assassination of a Baghdad election worker.
The only problem for LGF was that allegation proved to be completely fictitious, not that LGF or any of the other right-wing online press-haters, such as Power Line and MichelleMalkin.com, ever copped to their delusional pursuit.

In October 2003, LGF was taken down when a denial-of-service attack was directed at another pro-Israel website which shares the same hosting provider.
LGF supporters objected, arguing that LGF users had been quoted out of context on a largely unmoderated (and very popular) blog.

The latter carries the premise that LGF is hateful, which is hardly proven (and which I dispute).

Like most people I read Anil's opinion (he despises LGF so much he doesn't mention it by name, not even once) of the blog and came away with the opinion that Anil doesn't have a problem with LGF or Charles, but he does have a problem-- a rather big one!-- with its readers.
This is why he is bad-mouthing LGF to mainstream news sites like MSNBC, where they have misclassified LGF as a "hate" site, when, in fact, it is not.
I'm not completely certain that it is a hate site, but I do notice hateful language that's in line with what the administrators of LGF stand for being allowed to remain in the comments sections, while opposing hateful remarks (can't find them because they've been censored anyway) are deleted.
