Little Marlow is a village in Buckinghamshire, England.
Little Marlow was once the site of a Benedictine convent dedicated to the Virgin Mary.
In 1547 the convent was seized by the Crown in the Dissolution of the Monasteries and was eventually demolished in 1740.

In ancient times the benefice of Little Marlow was in medieties, and the church was served alternately by two rectors.
The present vicar is the Rev. Thomas Martyn, regius professor of Botany in the university of Cambridge.

 Marlow's History
Marlow Place was obtained by the Royal Military Academy as an annex to house the overflow from the junior department at Remnantz in West Street whilst it was located in Marlow.
He was M.P. for Marlow in 1628, and was famous for locking the door to the House of Commons against the King's Messenger during the debate on the "illegal imposition of Tonnage and Poundage".
A little higher up Oxford Road is "Quoitings" which was in the 1830's the home of G.P.R. James who today is almost entirely forgotten but who in the middle of the 19th century was one of the best known, if not the best known, writer of his day since he was both popular and prolific.

Little Marlow has won a top prize in the 2004 Best Kept Village competition.
Little Marlow clerk Gloria Bar clay and council chairman Dallas Banfield received the Gurney Cup which the village won for the first time, at the Cricket Pavilion in Church Road, Little Marlow, for a population of under 500.
Little Marlow was given the award because judges were impressed by the lack of litter in the village and its overall cleanli ness.

SEERA gave little support to the Society's requests for special status to be given to the Thames, the Thames Corridor to the west of London and especially in the Thames Valley.

For several years one or two terns had summered at Little Marlow Gravel Pit and attempted to breed on the main island, but often failed.
Having seen tern rafts used successfully at various other sites, a small group of Little Marlow regulars decided to try a raft at the site.

THE sweet smell of success may be turning decidedly pongy for Scary Spice Mel B as thousands of gallons of raw sewage could soon be pumped close to her mansion.
The pop star's £3 million pad, the Manor House, in Little Marlow, sits just a few hundred metres from Little Marlow Sewage Works which may double in capacity to make room for Wycombe's refuse.
Mel B's estate is the one of the closest properties to the site and with an easterly wind the smell of sewage may mean she'll 'wannabe' moving out.
